something about a struggle
makes life seem more precious
as anything that requires no thought
does not have the same sense of fulfillment...

whenever i do not have to try
to get any certain thing done,
i tend to put it behind me
as quicly as possible
and it made me realize
that the more we rush
through anything in life,
the less we seem to care about it
as we take time and pride
in completing all that we love
and enjoy those things so much better...

fruit is something that i love
and there are some fruits
that i prefer over others
due to the sweetness in their flavor...

for example, take an apple and a mango...

an apple is something i can bite right into;
i know what to expect in the sweetness
that is held in the meat
underneath the thin layer of skin,
and it will always be that way...

on the other hand, a mango requires more thought;
one has to dig into it\'s layers
and peel the skin back
before the succulent flesh
can be ripped apart by our teeth,
and the sweetness contained within
is much more gratifying...

life, in general, can also be applied to this philosophy
in the sense that having to work hard for anything
is a much better accomplishment
as opposed to something
that requires no prying into at all
and anytime i have the choice,
i will always take the mango over the apple...

...
this is the result of a conversation i had with a friend last night at the bar over some drinks...

comments are more than welcome...
